Darlene Nickles - April
Although Darlene has been volunteering in Digestive Health for just under one year, she feels a true part of the team. Twice a week, she arrives at the hospital before 6 a.m. to assist the staff create a friendly and comfortable experience for the patients. Darlene is a native of Sandusky and is retired from General Motors after a career as a spot welder and line technician. She has two children and five grandchildren with a new one on the way.

Darlene hosts a Bible study group in her home weekly and also enjoys spending time with all her grandchildren watching family movies. As an active member of the YMCA, she is faithful in attending her water aerobics and fitness classes. Darlene truly enjoys her position in Digestive Health and says the best part is getting to know the people she helps.
