Volunteer Spotlight

Beth Pitts - March

Beth is a 13-year veteran volunteer working in the Gift Shop as a cashier, special sales and other backroom support as needed.  She was born in Wisconsin but spent 10 years of her childhood in Africa as part of her parent’s mission work through their church.   Beth has one son but has no doubt helped ‘raise’ lots of children as she is a retired kindergarten teacher for Margaretta Schools where she taught for 37 years.

With a passion for community involvement, Beth continues to be very active in St. Stephen Church and participates as the Head Trustee, choir, Kiddie College Board to name just a few.  She is also a member of the College Women, Bonsai Club and Firelands Auxiliary. Beth enjoys reading, traveling and outdoor activities including gardening, walking and bicycling.  Her parents, both former volunteers for Firelands, encouraged Beth to join them in service here.
