Course Information
Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing offers courses that explore a range of topics from the foundational concepts of nursing to concepts of critical care and patient care management. All courses are taught by the most qualified and experienced instructors who strive to model compassion and professionalism to their students.  

Nursing Foundations
This first nursing course provides a general background in health, health agencies, the role of the professional registered nurse, components of the nursing process and practice in fundamental nursing skills.

Nursing Care of Adults I
This course focuseson assessment and nursing care of the adult client with endocrine,gastrointestinal, hepatic, renal, neurological, musculoskeletal and respiratory disorders.

Nursing Care of Adults II

This course focuses on assessment and nursing care of the adult client with hematologic, immune, reproductive, sensory disorders and cancer.

Nursing Care of Adults III
This course focuses on the utilization of the nursing process in the care of cardiovascular and complex client situations and management of groups of clients.

Psychiatric Nursing
This course surveys the common mental disorders, their prevention, treatment and nursing care.

Med Surg Nursing Advanced Concepts
This course focuses on assessment and nursing care of the adult client with endocrine, gastrointestinal, renal, integumentary, neurological, muscuskeletal,respiratory, liver, immune, reproductive, sensory disorders and cancer.

Maternal Child Nursing
This course focuses on the nursing care of the childbearing family and children from infancy through adolescence and illness in a variety of settings.
