Patient Infusion StationsInfusion stations are each located to provide a relaxing environment for the patient with views of Sandusky, of our tranquil water fall or in view of an inspirational mural. Flowering plant life is spread through the treatment area to inspire thoughts of healing and growth.Each infusion station features a relaxing reclinable chair for added comfort during therapy sessions, while heated blankets are supplied for those who chill easily. A privacy curtain is available should the patient or family wish for solitude.
Patient beds are available for infusion recipients that may require a quiet and more assisted treatment area.
Patients coming in with a group of family members have the option of using the Family Infusion Room which has ample space and luxuries to encompass the feel of home during their therapy.
Luxuries to Pass the Time Away
Mealtime/SnacksPatients are served refreshments as requested and may order breakfast or lunch from the Firelands Café. The menu is vast and always pleasing.
Family members may venture over the Firelands Café to enjoy a tasty meal while the family member continues with treatment or visit Java City for a tasty treat or beverage.
A vending area is also available for patient and family members should they desire a quick snack.
Educational OpportunitiesPatients and/or family members may attend one or all of our educational classes to learn more about treatment.
PharmacistA pharmacist rounds the treatment room throughout the day to answer medication questions or provide additional education on the chemotherapy during the patients’ infusion.
NursesChemotherapy trained nurses operate the infusion area. They work closely with the patient, family and members of the healthcare team in providing care. They guide patients in decision making while providing education. The nurse is a liasion to the physicians and other members of the team.
