Since its inception, the Firelands Retail Pharmacy has filled over 75,000 prescriptions. Beginning as an employee-only service, the Retail Pharmacy opened its doors to the public in 2009 offering a combination of convenience, competitive pricing, and personalized service to Firelands Regional Medical Center's outpatients and the general public.

Prescriptions for home-going patients can be processed and ready for pickup upon discharge or following outpatient treatment/services. In addition to inpatients being discharged, outpatients from ER, Outpatient Surgery, Digestive Health, Cancer Center, and many campus-based physician practices frequently find our services convenient and competitively priced.
We offer free mail-out service to those who have transportation difficulties or those who are unable to reach us during our normal business hours of 8:00 am -4:30 pm Monday - Friday. Prescribers may leave prescriptions at any time by fax (419-557-6944) or by using our IVR (interactive voice response system). Patients likewise may use the IVR to request prescription refills 24/7. The Firelands Retail Pharmacy accepts most Third Party insurance programs and honors the same co-pay structure as all other local retail pharmacies. For those patients who have no prescription coverage, we maintain an extremely competitive pricing structure. The popular $4/$10 generic program as well as the new $1.99/$5.99 generic program are both honored as well.

Complete medication records are maintained for each patient and are reviewed for potential interactions, duplications, and sensitivities each time a new prescription is processed. Our pharmacist is always available to consult with patients at the time prescriptions are picked up, or by phone in the event that prescriptions are mailed.
