what we do : Pharmacy Services
Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) Pharmacy Residency Program
At Firelands Regional Medical Center, our residency program offers two (2) resident positions and is focused on developing confident, well-rounded practitioners with experience in a variety of acute care and ambulatory practice settings. Residents will be accountable for achieving optimal medication management and the highest quality of clinical pharmacy services as collaborative members of our health care team.

Our 12-month ASHP pre-candidate status program provides training in a wide range of direct patient care settings. Our program will reinforce the concepts of an Accountable Care Organization and will ensure that graduates embody a unique skill-set with emphasis on the integration of pharmacy services into this rapidly growing model of care. We strive to build future leaders in our profession through many focused administrative and clinical experiences as well as participation in mentoring activities for both IPPE and APPE students. Graduates of the Firelands Regional Medical Center pharmacy residency program will be prepared to accept future employment as clinical pharmacists, ambulatory care pharmacists, or pursue a variety of PGY2 residency programs. An optional teaching certificate program is available through our local college of pharmacy affiliations.
