For optimal communications with patients, and in compliance with state law, Firelands Regional Medical Center is providing this list of our charges for room and board, emergency department, operating room, physical therapy and other procedures. The hospital's charges are the same for all patients, but a patient's responsibility may vary, depending on payment plans negotiated with individual health insurers. Early detection is important in the fight against oral, head and neck cancer. Symptoms can include change of voice, sore in mouth, lump in throat, growth in neck, and red/white patches in the mouth, to name a few. Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening (must fast for 8 hours - no food or water) - an ultrasound scan that screens for the existence of an enlargement in the aorta that can lead to a ruptured aortic artery. Cost: $40 Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening - screens for peripheral arterial disease in the lower extremities. Cost: $40 Stroke/Carotid Artery Screening - an ultrasound scan that screens for fatty plaque - leading cause of stroke. Targeted for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured, screenings will include a clinical breast exam, education on prevention and early detection, including how to perform a breast self exam correctly, and a screening mammogram if indicated.
