Community Presentations
Doctors and other medical professionals offer educational lectures and demonstrations addressing a wide variety of healthcare topics. These presentations are held at various times at designated locations. Presentation dates and times are listed in Classes and Events, in the local newspaper or on local radio. CPR & First Aid Training
HeartSaver First Aid with CPR/AED – Ideal for anyone who needs to know the basics of first aid and be certified to perform CPR and AED. The course also addresses health and safety issues and blood-borne disease protection.

Healthcare Provider CPR – Designed for healthcare provider (nurses, physicians, paramedics , etc.), following the guidelines of the American Heart Association. Includes adult, infant and child, and one- and two-rescuer CPR, relief of choking and Automated External Defibulator skills.

Infant & Child CPR for Family & Friends – Focuses on rescue techniques of CPR and choking of infants and children. Participants will learn appropriate safety guidelines and life-saving procedures. To view or to register for upcoming trainings, visit Classes & Events.


Health Risk Screenings
  • Blood pressure screening
  • Cholesterol screening – will provide you with your total cholesterol or lipid profile
  • Glucose (blood sugar) screening
  • Body composition – measures the body’s composition of fat, water and lean tissue
  • Bone Density Screening – provides information about your risk of osteoporosis – for women 30 years and older
  • Skin scope – a healthcare professional views your face to check for areas of concern
  • EZ Detect "throw in the bowl" test for blood in the stool

Speakers Bureau
Firelands Regional Medical Center healthcare professionals are available to speak to organizations on a wide variety of healthcare topics. Requests from professional associations, civic groups, social clubs, parent groups, employers, religious institutions, community service groups, support groups and others are welcome. Vaccines are available each fall from late September through mid-November. Vaccination clinics can be scheduled at churches, grocery stores, drug stores and businesses throughout the community, based on vaccine availability.
