Meet Our Executive Team

Charles A. Stark, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Stark joined Firelands Regional Health System in January 2004, and is known to everyone as “Chuck.” Mr. Stark completed the master facility planning process and secured Board approval to build a $146.9 million expansion including a new patient tower, cancer center, parking structure, power house, materials management building, and $19 million in renovations to existing facilities. Under his leadership, there has been a five year sustained improvement in employee satisfaction as measured by the Great Place to Work® survey, a sustained improvement in physician satisfaction, many new programs started, and multiple national/regional recognitions for clinical excellence. Prior to coming to Firelands, Mr. Stark served in various capacities at HEALTHSOUTH Corporation, the most recent being Senior Vice President of Operations overseeing HEALTHSOUTH's acute care hospitals in Alabama and Florida. He has 24 years experience in healthcare senior management and leadership. Chuck is a cum laude graduate of Duke University and also earned his MHA from Duke University.

Daniel J. Moncher, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Moncher joined the Firelands Regional Health System in 1997. Prior to joining Firelands, Moncher served as Regional Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio and Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio. He has 21 years of healthcare experience. His responsibilities include all aspects of financial, capital, and debt management, financial strategic planning and analyses, information systems, revenue cycle, medical records, patient access, insurance claims management, managed care contracting and outpatient behavioral health. He is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives, a Certified Public Accountant (inactive), earned his Bachelor of Science in Business-Accountancy from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and his Master of Business Administration Degree from Tiffin University, Tiffin, Ohio.

Tamara L. Jackson, Senior Vice President, Operations & Chief Nursing Officer.
Mrs. Jackson joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1981 as a licensed practical nurse. She obtained her registered nurse diploma in 1984, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bowling Green State University, Medical University of Ohio, Bowling Green, Ohio; a Master of Science from the Medical University of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio; and has completed course work toward a Master of Business Administration Degree. She has served in various capacities at Firelands Regional Medical Center including Nurse, Coordinator of Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation & Patient Education Services, Manager of Education & Development, Director of Education & Development/Nurse Recruitment & Retention and Vice President of Nursing Services. She is responsible for direction and operation of all major nursing functions and related patient care programs including: all Inpatient Care Units, Respiratory Care, Sleep Lab, Pharmacy, Case Management, Home Health, Dialysis Center, Emergency Services, Women’s Imaging Center, Surgical Services, Radiology/Imaging, Wound Care Center, Infection Control, Quality, School of Nursing and Laboratory Services. Mrs. Jackson holds certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center and The American College of Healthcare Executives.

Beverly J. Schrickel, Vice President, Operations
Mrs. Schrickel joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1979 as a RN, Charge Nurse of the Medical/Surgical Unit and Relief Supervisor. At Firelands she has served as Shift Supervisor, Critical Care Coordinator, Clinical Coordinator and Director of Inpatient Services. She is responsible for the direction and operation of nursing functions and related patient care activities for the following areas: Psych, Medical/Surgical Units, Inpatient (oncology), Progressive Care, Critical Care, Nursing Supervisors, OB/Peds and Physical Rehab Units. She received her RN Diploma in Nursing in 1976 from Toledo Mercy School of Nursing, Toledo, Ohio and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996 from Bowling Green State University, Firelands Campus, Huron, Ohio. Mrs. Schrickel is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Ryan R. Chandler, Vice President, Operations.
Mr. Chandler is a native of Shreveport, LA, who joined the Firelands Regional Medical Center team as Assistant Vice President of Operations and was promoted to Vice President of Operations in 2009. Chandler was previously employed at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. At Firelands, he oversees Nutritional Services, Environmental Services, Materials Department, Cancer Center, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Registration, Central Scheduling, Clinical Engineering, Plant Operations, Safety and Security, and the Firelands Gift Shops. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master of Healthcare Administration degree, both from Louisiana State University and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

James A. Sennish, Vice President, Human Resources.
Mr. Sennish joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in February 2006 bringing over 28 years of experience to the position. Previously, he was Director of Human Resources for Erie County and also served the City of Sandusky in a number of different positions. His responsibilities at Firelands include the administration of human resources for the Medical Center. He directs all human resource activities including recruitment, retention, education, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and HRIS, as well as human resource regulatory and governmental compliance. Sennish has successfully lead the Firelands team to receive six Best Employer/Best Place to Work recognitions. Sennish has undergraduate and graduate degrees from Bowling Green State University.

Robert M. Moore, Vice President, Legal & General Counsel.
Mr. Moore joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2005. Previously, he was a partner with the law firm of Muehlhauser & Moore in Sandusky where he provided 16 years of legal service to the Firelands System. His practice included business and commercial litigation; business planning, including non-profit corporations; real estate transactions; contract negotiations and drafting; estate planning and employment defense litigation. Moore is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts and in the U. S. Federal Court. From 1984 to 1990, Moore served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Erie County. Moore graduated cum laude from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo in 1984.

Connie R. Lamb, Vice-President, Marketing & Public Relations.
Mrs. Lamb joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2007, bringing over 25 years of marketing experience to the position. Over 16 of those years have been specifically in healthcare marketing. Lamb previously served as Marketing Director of the Community Health Partners Health System in Lorain, and prior to that was with the Firelands and Providence Health Systems in Sandusky. Her healthcare marketing experience encompasses the areas of strategic planning, strategic marketing and advertising campaigns, public relations campaigns, consumer relationship marketing, marketing research and statistical analysis, e-marketing and outreach services. Her areas of responsibilities at Firelands Regional Medical Center include the administration of the system's marketing, advertising and public relations functions, as well as oversight of the development, volunteer and community outreach departments. Lamb is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and earned her Masters and undergraduate degrees in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University.

Marsha O. Mruk, Vice President, Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services.
Mrs. Mruk joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1985. Previously, she worked in two other large Mental Health Centers in Pennsylvania, Family Planning and services for the elderly upon her move to Ohio. At Firelands, Mrs. Mruk is responsible for the administration of the full range of mental health and alcohol and drug services and a 34-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. Under her leadership, she has developed the Behavioral Health program to provide services in ten locations across seven counties including Erie, Ottawa, Huron, Seneca, Sandusky, Wyandot and Lorain counties. Duties also include program and business development, grant writing, fiscal management, and interfacing with hospital management, community, and government agencies. Mrs. Mruk has 30 years of experience in Behavioral Health. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from California State College and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Patricia S. Martin, Vice President, Quality and Patient Satisfaction.
Mrs. Martin joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1978 as a Charge Nurse for the Pediatrics Unit. She has since served in various capacities at Firelands Regional Medical Center including Nursing Projects Coordinator, Coordinator of Special Projects, Coordinator of the Hayes Avenue Facility Services and Programs, and Director of Physician Relations. She currently serves in the capacity of Vice President of Quality and Patient Satisfaction where she is accountable for the planning, implementation, and management of organization wide activities to assess and improve quality and patient satisfaction. Specific areas of responsibility include: constant survey readiness, infection surveillance and control, patient safety, professional peer review, concurrent quality processes, patient satisfaction and advocacy, risk management, the interfaces and benchmarking with private and public external databases for quality processes and outcomes, trauma and stroke certification, and planned change. Mrs. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Organization Development, each from Bowling Green State University and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
