Quality Measures & Performance Improvement
Quality measures are available to allow Firelands Regional Medical Center to compare itself with industry leaders and identify opportunities upon which to focus resources and efforts for improvement. Such comparisons can also help consumers of healthcare choose resources for their healthcare based upon quality processes and outcomes. When we find that our performance is not consistent with leaders in the industry, Firelands evaluates its data, selects process improvement, executes a plan, and monitors for performance improvement.
  • Hospital Quality Alliance
    This group is a collaborative effort between the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and organizations that represent hospitals, physicians, employers, and accreditation organizations, other public and private agencies, and healthcare consumers. It tracks measures of care that reflect recommended treatments for:
    a.
    Heart Attack (Acute Myocardial Infarction)
    b.
    Congestive Heart Failure
    c.
    Pneumonia
    d.
    Surgical Infection Prevention

    Data is collected from patient medical records and summarized to describe each hospital's performance with best practices.
