Daniel J. Moncher
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Daniel J. Moncher joined the Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1997. Prior to joining Firelands, Moncher served as regional vice president and chief financial officer for Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio, and Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio. He has 30 years of healthcare experience. His responsibilities include all aspects of financial, capital, investment and debt management; interest rate risk management; financial strategic planning and analysis; operating and capital budgeting; revenue cycle; business analysis; medical records; patient billing/cashiers; insurance claims management; managed care contracting; graduate medical education; physician hospital organization; The Foundation for Firelands; and outpatient behavioral health. In addition, he is responsible for banking, investment, auditor, insurance, joint venture, and actuarial relationships. He is very active locally, serving on many community and not-for-profit boards and finance committees. Moncher is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, a certified public accountant (inactive) and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He holds a bachelor of science degree in business – accountancy from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and a master of business administration degree from Tiffin University, Tiffin, Ohio.
Beverly J. Schrickel, RN
Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Nursing Officer
Bev Schrickel, RN, MSM, FACHE is currently vice president, clinical operations and chief nursing officer at Firelands Regional Medical Center. Schrickel joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1979 as a nurse in the medical/surgical unit and relief supervisor. At Firelands she has served as shift supervisor, critical care coordinator, clinical coordinator and director of inpatient services. She is currently responsible for the direction and operation of nursing functions and related patient care activities for the following areas: emergency services, inpatient behavioral healthcare, medical/surgical units, inpatient (oncology), Cancer Center, progressive care, critical care, nursing supervisors, Center for Women and Newborns, pediatrics, dialysis, inpatient and outpatient surgery areas, infusion center, digestive health, Route 4 Surgery Center and sterile processing. She received an RN diploma in nursing in 1976 from Toledo Mercy School of Nursing; a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing in 1996 from Bowling Green State University; and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration in 2010 from New England College. Schrickel is board certified by the ANCC as a Nurse Executive and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Robert M. Moore
Vice President of Legal Services and General Counsel
Robert M. Moore joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2005. Previously, he was a partner with the law firm of Muehlhauser & Moore in Sandusky, where he provided 16 years of legal service to Firelands Regional Health System. His practice included business and commercial litigation; business planning, including nonprofit corporations; real estate transactions; contract negotiations and drafting; estate planning; and employment defense litigation. Moore is licensed to practice in all Ohio courts and in U.S. federal courts. From 1984 to 1990, Moore served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for Erie County. Mr. Moore graduated cum laude from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and received his juris doctorate of law from the University of Toledo in 1984.
Vice president of Operations/Marketing and Strategic Planning
Dru Meredith joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2003 as the public relations coordinator. He was promoted to director of physician recruitment in 2005, area director of physician recruitment and south campus operations in 2009, assistant vice president of operations in 2011, and vice president of operations/marketing and strategic planning in 2015. Meredith currently oversees physician recruitment, south campus operations, physical, occupational and speech therapy, neuropsychology, nutritional and environmental services, business development, marketing and strategic planning, community outreach, and development/fundraising. Meredith holds a bachelor of science degree in education and allied professions and a master's degree in organizational development, both from Bowling Green State University, and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
James A. Sennish
Vice President of Human Resources
James A. Sennish joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in February 2006 and has over 30 years of human resource management experience in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Sennish has undergraduate and graduate degrees in administration from Bowling Green State University. His responsibilities at Firelands include the administration of human resources for the 2,000-employee Medical Center. He leads all human resource activities, including recruitment, retention, education, employee health and wellness programs, benefits and compensation, employee relations, and HRIS, as well as human resource regulatory and governmental compliance. Sennish has successfully led the Firelands team to receive several best employer and best place to work recognitions on the local, state and national levels. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the Ohio Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administrators and the Healthcare Executives of Northeast Ohio. Sennish is a frequent speaker on human resource and management topics and represents Firelands in several community organizations. He has been an adjunct faculty member at Bowling Green State University Firelands College since 2001, teaching human resource and management classes.
Marsha O. Mruk
Vice President of Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services
Marsha Oliver Mruk joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1985. Previously, she worked in several other large community mental health centers in Pennsylvania and after her move to Ohio, worked both in family planning and services for the elderly. At Firelands, Mruk is responsible for the administration of the full range of outpatient mental health and alcohol and drug services and a 34-bed inpatient psychiatric unit. Under her leadership, the behavioral health program has grown to provide services in 12 locations across seven counties: Erie, Ottawa, Huron, Seneca, Sandusky, Wyandot and Lorain. Duties also include program and business development; grant writing; fiscal management; and interfacing with hospital management, community and government agencies. Mruk has over 30 years of experience in behavioral health. She earned a bachelor of science degree in social work from California University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree of public administration from the University of Pittsburgh and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Patricia S. Martin
Vice President of Quality and Patient Satisfaction
Patricia S. Martin joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 1978 as a charge nurse for the pediatrics unit. She has since served in various capacities at Firelands Regional Medical Center, including nursing projects coordinator, coordinator of special projects, coordinator of the Hayes Avenue facility services and programs, and director of physician relations. She is currently accountable for the planning, implementation and management of organization-wide activities to assess and improve quality and patient satisfaction. Specific areas of responsibility include constant survey readiness, infection surveillance and control, infectious diseases, patient safety, professional peer review, concurrent quality processes, patient satisfaction and advocacy, risk management, institutional review board, inpatient wound care, the interfaces and bench-marking with private and public external databases for quality processes and outcomes, trauma and stroke certification, and planned change. Martin holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a master's degree of organization development, both from Bowling Green State University and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management
Jane Arnold joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2004 as the director of revenue cycle, bringing over 30 years of experience to the position. Prior to joining Firelands, Arnold served as director of revenue cycle of Mercy Hospital in Tiffin, Ohio, and Mercy Hospital in Willard, Ohio. Her responsibilities include management of the revenue cycle, insurance verification, medical records and transcription, patient accounting, credit and collection, denial management, charge master and clinical audit and compliance. Arnold is a graduate of Hopewell Loudon High School and is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer
Denao Ruttino joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2013 as the director of information services and telecommunications. Ruttino brings over 20 years' experience in information technology and leadership. Prior to joining Firelands, he served as Chief Executive Officer of a private technology organization and served in the United States Army home and abroad from 1989 to 1997. Ruttino has overall responsibility for imaging services, the Center for Breast Care, telecommunications, plant operations, clinical engineering and information services. Ruttino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology Security from Western Governors University, a Master of Health Administration from Ohio University, and holds CPHIMS and CHCIO certifications. He is a member of the EHOVE Curriculum Advisory Board, Norwalk Public Library Board, CHIME, HIMSS and ACHE.
Vice President of Operations
Jim Spicer joined Firelands Regional Medical Center in 2004 as a staff pharmacist. At Firelands he has also served as clinical pharmacy coordinator, residency program director, director of pharmacy services, area director of pharmacy services and supply chain and Assistant Vice President of Operations. He is currently responsible for the operation and strategic development of inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services, the center for coordinated care, laboratory and pathology services and the Health System’s supply chain. Spicer received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, holds a Masters degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is a member of the Humane Society of Erie County Board, Immaculate Conception School Board and Parish Endowment Board, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and maintains involvement on numerous state and national organizations related to pharmacy, supply chain and physician practice operations.
