Chris Zimmer Recognized as May Beacon of Light

May 15, 2017 – Sandusky, Ohio -- Firelands Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Chris Zimmer, R.T., C.A.T., has been selected as the May Beacon of Light Award winner. Chris is a Patient Care Tech at Firelands Regional Medical Center Corporate Health.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a monthly award given to team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Medical Center in the areas of service, integrity, respect, unity and stewardship along with their commitment as a member of our community.

According to the nomination for Chris, she exhibits these values. “Chris always puts our patients first, trying to make their experience the best it can be,” the nomination read. “Chris is willing to adjust her schedule as needed and does whatever she can to make the day better for co-workers.  Even on busy days, Chris never complains about work load, but offers to help others.”

“Our department has many off-site projects and Chis prepares for all of them without being asked.  Frequently staff will start to prepare for a project and realize Chris already has it ready!  Everyone within the department knows if something needs to be done, Chris will make sure it gets finished.”

“No matter where Chris goes to represent CHC, she is always looking for a way to portray FRMC and CHC in a positive manner.”

In addition to this, Chris gives back by taking care of others while not at work. She often assists elderly neighbors with doctor visits, prepares meals, and visits residents at area nursing homes. Chris is also active in her church and local school.

Chris lives in Huron with her husband, Rich, and has three adult children: Jenny, Jill and Katie.
