Monica White Recognized as September Beacon of Light

(September 19, 2017 – Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Monica White, administrative secretary, Education Services, has been selected as the September Beacon of Light Award winner. Monica has been employed with Firelands for more than 20 years.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a monthly award given to team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Medical Center in the areas of service, integrity, respect, unity and stewardship along with their commitment as a member of our community.

Monica’s nomination elaborated on these values. “Monica has always radiated a bright shining beam when she has helped others in their search for answers. She has consistently aided employees with CareLearning, gathering files and records for audits, assisted the staff as well as other departments with computer related skills and information. She radiates helpfulness and is a frequent resource for a vast number of internal and external customers.”

“Monica has shown warmth and kindness to everyone around her, and also has compassion for those in need of assistance with registration for classes, etc. She goes above and beyond to help anyone.”

“I hear Monica answer her phone with professionalism and sincere interest with a smile in her voice that exudes compassion and empathy. She has a hearty laugh and a brilliant smile for everyone. She dives into her work detail with gusto.”

In addition to this, Monica has been involved with the SC Committee at Firelands Regional Medical Center, and has opened her home to friends and family in times of need. She has a generous heart and has visited the assisted living home for the elderly with candy and other small gifts.

Outside of work, Monica enjoys hiking and bike riding. She resides in Willard with her husband, Tom, and has two adult children.

  • Happiest Baby on the Block

    The Happiest Baby program is a national curriculum and is taught by a certified instructor. Parents will be taught to quickly soothe the fussiest baby.

  • Free Breastfeeding Mom-Baby Group

    This free clinic is open to the public every other Thursday to assist breastfeeding mothers with answering questions or concerns and to offer breastfeeding support.

  • American Red Cross Blood Drive

    Blood drives in Bellevue and Sandusky. Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood.

  • Health & Wellness Lab Screening

    Call 419-557-7840. Pre-registration is required for the lab work.

  • Breastfeeding Basics

    A class designed to teach new parents the benefits of breastfeeding and how to successfully breastfeed their baby.
