Ruth Meade Recognized as February Beacon of Light


February 2, 2017 – Sandusky, Ohio -- Firelands Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Ruth Meade, Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Operations, Marketing and Strategic Planning, has been selected as the February Beacon of Light Award winner.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a monthly award given to team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Medical Center in the areas of service, integrity, respect, unity and stewardship along with their commitment as a member of our community.

Ruth exemplifies all of these values. “Ruth has an extremely upbeat and positive attitude,” her nomination read. “She is always kind and caring to her co-workers. Ruth has a nurturing personality and always offers her help. She is very supportive and will go above and beyond to help anyone who asks.”

“Ruth is very organized and thorough in her work performance; she has a very professional attitude and is always committed to adhering to Firelands Regional Medical Center standards. Ruth is very well respected by her peers and management.”

“Ruth shows enthusiasm in everything she does whether it is her work, her friends, co-workers, family or just life in general. She will always lend an ear and offer any assistance and kind words of encouragement. Ruth is spontaneous and fun-loving, which draws many people to her.”

In addition to this, Ruth is a member of the Employee Focus Committee at Firelands and also helps at many hospital events. She is involved with her church in Huron – St. Peters Catholic Church.

Outside of work, Ruth loves to read, golf, play cards, and spend time with family and friends. She resides in Huron with her husband, Dennis, and has four adult children.
