Firelands Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Donates $17,000 to Patient Care

(May 18, 2018 – Sandusky, OH) – Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Auxiliary has a long and rich tradition of support and commitment to the hospital and its patients with a focus on fundraising initiatives. Most recently, the Auxiliary donated $17,024.10 towards patient care initiatives and purchases.

Through its fundraising activities and management of the three hospital gift shops, the Auxiliary has raised and donated over $1.25 million to the hospital in the past 10 years. The recent donation included:

  • Two metro carts for pharmacy
  • Vibro-acoustic stereo control unit for Firelands Children’s S.P.O.T.
  • Trauma kits for Stop the Bleed classes
  • R.A.C.E. station for the security department
  • ACCUVEIN Vein Finder (2)

“We are honored to be a part of the quality care provided to patients at Firelands Regional Medical Center,” said Donna Kieffer, president of the Firelands Auxiliary.

The money raised by the Auxiliary is donated to Firelands for the purchase of equipment, educational support, hospital services and other items deemed necessary for the hospital to improve patient care. All proceeds from purchases at the gift shops go back to providing equipment on behalf of patient care at Firelands.
