Nick Simonovich Selected as the October Beacon of Light at Firelands Regional Medical Center
(October 18, 2018 – Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Nick Simonovich, BSN, RN, teaching assistant at the Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing, has been selected as the October Beacon of Light Award winner. Nick has been with Firelands Regional Medical Center for five years.
The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Medical Center in the form of exceptional Attitude, Commitment and Enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and coworkers.
Nick’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. On multiple occasions, Nick has been described as kind, and patient with others. One comment in particular came from a patient’s daughter who said: “I know you gave her all the medical care available, but her remarks were always about your kindness and caring. I hope you continue to work in healthcare where your stars shine so bright.”
Nick was also Firelands Regional Medical Center’s first employee to be recognized as a Guardian Angel. The Guardian Angel Program gives patients the opportunity to write a note and/or make a tax deductible gift to the Foundation for Firelands on behalf of any team member who made their visit or stay at Firelands extraordinary.
Outside of work, Nick enjoys Cleveland sports, golfing, boating, Cedar Point, and spending time with my family and friends. He currently reside in Huron with his wife Emily.
