The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Medical Center in the form of exceptional Attitude, Commitment and Enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and coworkers.

Catherine’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. “Many people throughout the Health System know what a blessing Cathy is through their interactions with her. Cathy is a person who always has a smile on her face and will be there for you any time you need her.”

“She puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform to their fullest potential. She listens intently to others to understand and empathize with them to identify all ways that she can assist them. Her awareness of how she can help others is foundational at Firelands Regional Health System.”

“Cathy is always well-prepared, full of ideas and cheerful about upcoming projects and current tasks. She defines her goals and puts plans together to accomplish them. She is a person who identifies something positive in the midst of negativity and changes others perception about the situation.”

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys cooking and gardening and spending time with her son and two grandchildren. She resides in Norwalk with her husband Don.
