Elyria Police Department Recognizes Firelands Regional Medical Center Counseling and Recovery Services

During the Elyria Police Awards Ceremony, the Elyria Police Department recognized Brandice Hunt, alcohol and drug case manager and Darci Tellep, integrated care coordinator, of Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Counseling and Recovery Services. Hunt and Tellep were part of the Elyria Police Department’s, Quick Response Team (QRT).

The purpose of the QRT was to help those in the Elyria area who had previously overdosed get treatment and help through the Firelands Counseling and Recovery program. Paired with an Elyria officer, Lieutenant Deena Baker, Hunt works directly with the victims and Tellep helped oversee and supervise the QRT project.

Firelands Counseling and Recovery Services partnered with the Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services Board of Lorain County (ADAS) to develop the Quick Response Team in efforts to reduce heroin related overdoses and deaths in Elyria.

Firelands Counseling & Recovery Services provides a full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient mental health, alcohol and drug treatment to northern Ohioans with these conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Anxiety disorders
