Laura Criscione Selected as the February Beacon of Light at Firelands
(Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Regional Health System is pleased to announce that Laura Criscione, development officer for The Foundation for Firelands, has been selected as the February Beacon of Light Award winner.
The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Regional Health System in the form of exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and coworkers.
Laura’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. “Every time I see Laura, whether in the halls or in the office, she is always smiling and conversational. She genuinely cares about the people she encounters, as well as the work she is responsible for,” the nomination read. “You can tell by observing Laura’s behavior that she genuinely cares and partakes in the mission of Firelands. Laura is a true team player and is always positive, even when things seem to be going wrong. Her outlook on life carries through to who she is when she comes to work.”
Outside of work, Laura enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes planning events and celebrations for loved ones, traveling, meeting new people, attending sporting events and anything outdoors. As a Florida native, Laura loves the ocean, boating, snorkeling, and cheering on her alma mater, the Florida Gators. This year, Laura volunteered at Cedar Point Sports Center as the volleyball coach for her daughter’s volleyball team. She also volunteers locally at her children’s school. Laura helps her husband with graphic design for their family business, Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, creating brochures and billboards. She resides in Sandusky with her husband, Billy, and their two elementary-aged children, Molly and William.
