Barb Curtis Selected as the August Beacon of Light at Firelands

(Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Health is pleased to announce that Barb Curtis, office coordinator at Firelands Center for Coordinated Care, was selected as the August Beacon of Light Award winner.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Health in the form of exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and co-workers.

Barb’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. “Having an ACE attitude is something that Barb takes great pride and joy in showing and doing every day. She is a positive leader, leading by example with professionalism, compassion and maturity,” the nomination read. “Barb really sets the standard in our department for her dedication to creating a harmonious and enjoyable work environment, but also one of accountability. She is respected by the entire staff and is really the backbone of the department. Barb is an ambassador for Firelands Health. She has dedicated her career to promote Firelands and Firelands Center for Coordinated Care’s growth.”

Outside of work, Barb spends her time enjoying life, her faith and her family. She also enjoys family beach vacations, gardening and cooking. She resides in Sandusky with her husband, Brian. Barb has been an employee at Firelands since 1999.
