Ben Palsa Selected as the July Beacon of Light at Firelands

(Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Health is pleased to announce that Ben Palsa, MSN, RN, clinical nurse educator at Firelands, was selected as the July Beacon of Light Award winner.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Health in the form of exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and co-workers.

Ben’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. “Ben is the epitome of ACE attitude. Always willing to help, easy going, and has a great sense of humor. Ben is extremely intelligent in so many aspects: on policy and procedures, nursing care, skill sets, and life in general. He welcomes questions and goes out of his way to make sure you understand. Ben is truly dedicated to providing positive experiences to his co-workers, and is committed to making us better nurses,” the nomination read. “Ben’s enthusiasm comes out when he teaches. He loves to help and provide a positive learning environment for everyone: new nurses, seasoned nurses, and all in between. Ben does not know a stranger, everyone is a friend or friend-to-be.”

Outside of work, you can find Ben and his family having fun on the ball fields, riding rides at Cedar Point, swimming at Cedar Point Shores Waterpark, or otherwise on the move. He resides in Castalia with his wife, and their three sons. Ben has been an employee at Firelands for 11 years.
