Dr. Austen Smith Accepted into Post-Graduate Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston

(Sandusky, Ohio) Austen Smith, DO, a member of Firelands Regional Medical Center’s Family Medicine Residency Program, has been accepted into the obesity medicine fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. The fellowship offers additional training to physicians so they can effectively provide a weight-centric approach to patient care when treating obesity and its related comorbidities. Dr. Smith plans to use the knowledge and clinical skills gained from fellowship training to eventually practice within a cardiometabolic health clinic.

Dr. Smith has been a member of the Firelands Family Medicine Residency Program for 3 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He attended medical school at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Smith is from Columbus, Ohio and currently resides in Sandusky, Ohio.
