Daniel Carrier selected as the July Beacon of Light at Firelands

(Sandusky, Ohio) Daniel Carrier was selected as the Firelands Health July Beacon of Light Award winner. Daniel is the service delivery manager in the information technology department at Firelands.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit the values of Firelands Health in the form of exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and co-workers.

Daniel’s nomination exemplifies this dedication. “Dan takes initiative and is always going above and beyond his duties to make Firelands an amazing workplace and healthcare center. Dan’s positive attitude increases the morale in the workplace. He builds positive relationships with every member of his team. He builds feelings of trust, reliability and commitment,” the nomination read. “Dan is not a manager, he is a leader. He is able to influence, motivate and enable others to contribute towards organizational success. Dan actively listens to team members’ ideas and provides feedback and fosters an environment where everyone feels valued. He has a natural charisma and is able to captivate others to be the face of ‘ACE’.”

Outside of work, Dan enjoys watching baseball and cheering on the Toronto Blue Jays. Dan also enjoys collecting autographs, a hobby he and his younger brother started as children. Dan is on the EHOVE advisory committee for Computer & Networking Technologies. He resides in Huron with his wife, Carlee. In September, Dan will celebrate his 10-year work anniversary at Firelands.
