Firelands’ surgeon earns certification

(Sandusky, Ohio) Robert Carlisle II, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon at Firelands Physician Group Sandusky Orthopedics, has successfully earned his board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Carlisle specializes in orthopedic surgery at Firelands Health, which includes, total and partial knee replacement, total hip replacement, same-day discharge total joint replacement and robotics and computer navigation. While board-certification is not required to practice medicine, it’s an extra step a physician can take to assure patients of their training and expertise.

"Orthopedic surgery was my career goal since middle school after suffering numerous sports injuries," Dr. Carlisle said. He started practicing orthopedic surgery in 2021 after completing his residency and fellowship. "I enjoy working with people and look forward to continually providing excellent healthcare to improve the mobility in the lives of my patients," Dr. Carlisle added.

Dr. Carlisle is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
