(Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Health recently elected Kevin Kieffer to Firelands Regional Medical Center’s board of directors. “We are pleased to welcome Kevin to the board of directors,” said Chairman of the Board Roger Gundlach. Firelands also recognizes Leon (Lee) J. Wieber, transitioned to emeritus status after 37 years as a board member.

Kevin Kieffer, CPA is an owner at Payne, Nickles & Company, a locally-owned CPA and advisory firm. He is a board member and treasurer of the Erie County Chamber of Commerce, board member and treasurer of the NASA Armstrong Advocacy Coalition and serves on the finance committee of the City of Huron. He has served on many non-profit boards over the past 25 years, including Boys & Girls Club, Leadership Erie County, United Way, and Sandusky State Theatre. Kieffer stated, “I am excited for the opportunity to support Firelands Health build on its successes and participate in its continued growth and service of the community.”

Wieber, a long-standing board member at Firelands, has transitioned to emeritus status. Wieber was elected to serve on the board starting in 1986. He served during the merger of Memorial Hospital and the acquisition of Providence Hospital. During his time, he served as the chair of various committees at different points in time, which included finance, marketing, audit and corporate compliance, and interest rate risk management committees. Wieber also served as a member of both the health system and the medical center executive committees, the governance committee, the investment committee, the Foundation for Firelands, as well as the executive officers' selection committees. “Healthcare has changed dramatically in all respects since my time on the board,” said Wieber. “Notable accomplishments are the result of the outstanding performance, commitment and dedication of those who lead, and have lead, at Firelands.
