Firelands Health celebrates volunteers

(Sandusky, Ohio) Firelands Health spotlights those who donate their time and are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to patients and the community during National Volunteer Week, April 21-27.

Volunteers are an integral part of the day-to-day operations at Firelands. According to Independent Sector, the current value of a volunteer’s time in Ohio is calculated at $29.17 per hour. The dedicated support from Firelands' volunteers equated to a value of over $356,000 in 2023.

This week, we celebrate the volunteers at Firelands who assist with patient and guest relations, special projects, pet therapy, and supporting areas such as the dialysis center, information desks and gift shops.

Firelands volunteers will be honored throughout National Volunteer Week, which kicks off with an appreciation dinner at the Sandusky Yacht Club.
