Firelands Health welcomes general counsel Harris

(Sandusky, Ohio) Justin D. Harris, Esq., recently accepted the role of vice president and general counsel of Firelands Health. Mr. Harris will join Firelands Health effective May 7.

Mr. Harris has served as an attorney for 20 years and joins Firelands after serving at Reminger Co. LPA, for 16 years. He brings a wealth of experience in healthcare to Firelands. Mr. Harris was originally trained and practiced as a respiratory therapist at the beginning of his career before attending law school. He has spent the majority of legal career being an advocate for physicians, nurses and hospitals and he has also served as the Law Director for the City of Sandusky.

Mr. Harris served as National Coordinating Counsel for Cedar Fair, L.P.; was a Firelands Regional Medical Center board member; is a board member of the Erie County Public Defender Board and the Wightman-Wieber Foundation; and also serves as an adjunct professor for Bowling Green State University in the legal studies department. He also currently serves on the board of directors for the Greater Sandusky Partnership and the BGSU-Firelands Respiratory Care advisory board. Mr. Harris was recognized as a Rising Star by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine 2011-2015 and again in 2017.

Mr. Harris studied law at The Ohio State Moritz College of Law and graduated with a bachelor of arts with honors in applied health sciences from Bowling Green State University. He has two children and enjoys golf, traveling, walking and spending time with family.

Harris expressed, “I am local to the Greater Sandusky Region and have followed Firelands Health for a long time. To join this administration team is an exciting opportunity, and I look forward to serving the organization and the community at large.”
