Firelands names Beacon of Light

(Sandusky, Ohio) Earl Steele, an environmental services attendant who has worked at Firelands Health since 2012, was selected as the Firelands Health Beacon of Light.

The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exemplify and exhibit Firelands Health's values through exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and co-workers.

Earl's nomination exemplifies this dedication. Earl is the hardest working person I know. He makes me smile everyday. He's friendly, courteous, and always helps out someone in need if he can. We have a lot of staff on second shift who don't drive, and Earl has given many people rides to and from work, the nomination read. Earl is observant in what needs to be taken care of and never complains about the work he is assigned. Earl rarely calls off, is never late and comes in on his day off regularly to help out. His work ethic is beyond exceptional.

Outside of work, Earl enjoys attending church, taking walks, riding his bike, going to the park by the water and watching the boats come in, going to the movies, eating out and watching football. Earl is an avid Ohio State fan.

Earl plans to retire this year. My time spent here has been very inspiring and educational. I've enjoyed
my time here at Firelands. I always gave 100% in my work.
