Over 600 Join Annual “Save Your Pumpkins 5K” 

The North Coast Healthcare Collaborative (NCHC), which consists of Firelands Health, Firelands Health The Bellevue Hospital, Fisher-Titus and Magruder Hospital, sponsored it’s annual Save Your Pumpkins 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Oct. 4. Over 600 people participated in a vibrant display of community support for breast cancer awareness and patients across the north coast region.

The inspiring morning featured a sea of pink—from race shirts to tutus—as cancer survivors, dedicated runners and families gathered to race through downtown Sandusky.

Top finishers for the 5K were:

  • Isiah Johnson was the first-place male, finishing in 17 minutes and 50 seconds.
  • Nikki Hintze was the first-place female, finishing in 20 minutes and 4 seconds.

Proceeds from the 5K will be equally split between the foundations at each of the NCHC health systems. If you weren’t able to participate in the race but still wish to donate, you can go to firelands.com/pumpkins to donate online.
