50 Years of Volunteering

martyMarty Sawicki was honored for 50 years of volunteer service at Firelands Health during the annual volunteer banquet held April 23 at the Sandusky Yacht Club.

Sawicki began her volunteer work September 20, 1975. She dedicates the majority of her time to the Firelands Health Gift Shop, which generates proceeds that directly support patient care.

After reflecting on her time at Firelands, Marty stated, “I have been blessed with a host of very good memories during my time.”  She says that volunteering at Firelands has given her purpose and friends.

Marty has been active in the community, serving as a past board member on the Lange Trust, the Harlequins Theatre and the Plum Brook Country Club Ladies Auxiliary.

When she isn't giving back, Marty is an avid reader and a passionate fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Guardians. She remains active with local groups like the "Out to Dinner Bunch" and F20, and enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Firelands Health extends its deepest gratitude to Marty for her five decades of selflessness, spirit and service.
