The Firelands Beacon of Light is a program developed to recognize team members who exhibit the values of Firelands Health through exceptional attitude, commitment and enthusiasm (ACE). The award goes to individuals who ACE it every day for patients and
co-workers.

Mikayla’s nomination shows her dedication. “Kayla is a role model for a positive attitude, which is contagious to staff. She educates with positivity. She helps pick the team up on hard days. She is a great example of a leader,” the nomination read. “Kayla shows up for the team. She is always available to help and stays late as needed. When others complain, she instead looks for solutions.”

Mikayla has worked at Firelands since 2008. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, worshipping at The Chapel and participating in church events like Night to Shine, helping with 4-H activities, playing games, and recently started raising chickens.
