Childbirth Preparation classes are held at Firelands Regional Medical Center, South Campus, 1912 Hayes Avenue, Sandusky.
Participants will learn breathing patterns and relaxation exercises to be used during labor and delivery. Induction of labor, medication and anesthesia options, Caesarian birth and recovery will also be discussed.
Childbirth classes are taught by experienced obstetrical nurses from Firelands Regional Medical Center with a clinical background focused on contemporary childbirth methods. It is recommended that this course be taken during the last trimester of pregnancy and that expectant mothers select a class that ends at least three weeks before their due date. This course costs $35 for both mother and support person. Space is limited.
The class will take place at Firelands Regional Medical South Campus, in the Education department, on the first floor. Enter through the front lobby, take the ramp up from the ground floor to the first floor, then turn left. Follow the corridor until you reach the Education Department.
This is a two-day session. Please bring a pillow and wear comfortable clothes. It is recommended that your support person also attend.
