Dawn Fitt, RPh

Rotations: Ambulatory I & II, and Advanced Am Care

Dawn Fitt is the manager of the Center for Coordinated Care--a multi-disciplinary ambulatory clinic of the hospital. The clinic specializes in anticoagulation, diabetes, medical weight loss and nutrition, transitions of care, and smoking cessation. Dawn graduated from The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy in 2000. She spent many years as a retail pharmacy manager for an independent pharmacy, and has been at Firelands since 2016. Dawn is involved in many community partnerships, such as Food Is Medicine, Creating Healthy Communities, and the Tobacco Action Coalition. She precepts students and residents for the Ambulatory I and II and Advanced Am Care rotations.

Dawn lives in Port Clinton with her husband and two teenage sons. When they are not cheering on their beloved Buckeyes, they spend time boating, skiing, and enjoying life on the shores of Lake Erie.

Jaclyn Jensen, PharmD

Rotations: Critical Care, Advanced Critical Care

Jaclyn joined Firelands Regional Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist after graduating from Ohio Northern University in 2009. Jaclyn practices as one of the clinical pharmacists for the critical care unit where she participates in daily rounds with the critical care and collaborates with the nurse educator to provide critical care nursing staff education. Additionally, she serves as a decentralized pharmacist on the medical floor and regularly practices in the inpatient pharmacy.

Jaclyn is the primary residency preceptor for the PGY-1 critical care, advanced critical care rotations. Additionally, she serves as a team member for the longitudinal research projects. Jaclyn is the Colleges of Pharmacy APPE Site Coordinator and also precepts the critical care APPE rotation and oversees institutional IPPE learning experiences. Jaclyn is an active member of ASHP and serves on the antimicrobial stewardship, code blue, and residency advisory committees at Firelands.

Outside of work, Jaclyn enjoys being outdoors with her family, running, and reading. Jaclyn loves spending the summer and fall months in the Sandusky area and surrounding communities visiting local festivals, participating in athletic events, and volunteering. In the spring and winter, Jaclyn and her family enjoy traveling.

Sam Martin, PharmD, BCPS

Rotations: Internal Medicine 1 and Inpatient Psychiatry

Sam has been the Residency Program Director at Firelands since 2023 and is the current Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator for inpatient pharmacy services. Sam graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2018 and afterward completed a PGY-1 residency with Firelands. Sam remained with Firelands after graduation, working primarily in internal medicine. He has learned that you don’t need to work at a 900-bed hospital to provide excellent care to people who need it. He remains an advocate for equitable access to healthcare, both as a member of the Ohio Pharmacist Association, and as a board member for Lorain County Family Planning Services.

Outside of pharmacy, Sam is kept busy by his wife Kendra and son Graham. He likes to work out, paddleboard, visit new breweries, and play Magic the Gathering, the world’s most popular trading card game.

Joni Robinson, PharmD

Rotations: Oncology and Advanced Oncology

Joni Robinson attended pharmacy school at The Ohio State University. Throughout the doctorate program, she developed a strong interest in oncology. Joni was fortunate to begin her career as a pharmacist at a private practice oncology clinic, where she practiced for ten years. In those ten years, she developed treatment plans, began an oral chemotherapy program, counseled patients on new therapies, and worked directly with the oncologists to manage cancer patients’ plan of care. Oncology is an ever-growing complex area of pharmacy that allows her to grow every day, both academically and personally. As cancer treatments become more complex, the clinical pharmacist’s role has become more crucial in all phases of patient care as part of the cancer care team.

Joni joined the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Firelands Regional Medical Center team in May of 2018. In this time, she has grown to love serving the Sandusky and surrounding area populations with an amazing oncology team. Firelands, while not a large health system, offers up-to-date excellent oncology care. They now offer a pharmacist-driven oral chemotherapy program to further expand our care. Joni has been married to her husband, Andrew, for 12 years and they have two daughters she enjoys hiking and traveling with. Her family supports her passion for oncology, and daily encourages her to continue to grow. She is currently preparing for her next step as she prepares to take the BCOP exam to further her knowledge in this rewarding career.

McKenna Sanner, PharmD

Rotations: Ambulatory Care 1 and 2

McKenna grew up in Monroe, Michigan, and graduated from the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy in 2021. She completed her PGY-1 pharmacy residency here at FRMC in June of 2022. After completion of her residency, she stayed at FRMC as a clinical pharmacist. McKenna currently practices at the Firelands Center for Coordinated Care seeing patients for anticoagulation, heart failure, transitions of care, diabetes, weight management, and other services. She enjoys not only precepting but also learning from her residents and pharmacy students.

Outside of pharmacy, McKenna enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with her bernedoodle, Benson. She also enjoys boating, snowboarding, and traveling, with her husband Tim.

Upon completion of residency, Jacob joined Firelands Regional Medical Center as a clinical pharmacist in 2022 and earned his BCPS certification in 2024. His clinical roles include general medicine, infectious disease, and ICU.

In his free time, Jacob enjoys golfing, spending time with family, and cheering on Michigan sports teams. He and his wife, Lydia, welcomed their daughter Layla to the family in November 2024.

Now serving as Fireland’s Director of Pharmacy, Keith is actively involved in various medication-related initiatives throughout the health-system including, but not limited to, clinical initiatives, medication safety and pharmacy operations. In addition to his formal preceptor roles, Keith is often heavily involved with various longitudinal projects.
