Sam Martin, PharmD, BCPS

Rotations: Internal Medicine I

Sam Martin graduated from Ohio Northern University. Afterwards, he joined the Firelands team as one of their PGY-1 residents. Firelands was a great fit for him because he was able to gain strong experience in both acute care and ambulatory care settings. He has grown fond of Firelands' tight-knit community of providers. They have shown him that you really do not need to work downtown in a 900-bed hospital to provide excellent care to people who need it. Since completing his residency, he was fortunate enough to accept a position with Firelands working primarily as a decentralized pharmacist on their internal medicine floors. In school, he was an active member of Ohio Pharmacist’s Association. He plans to continue to stay involved with the organization now that he is out of residency.

Joni Robinson, PharmD

Rotations: Oncology

Joni Robinson attended pharmacy school at The Ohio State University. Throughout the doctorate program, she developed a strong interest in oncology. Joni was fortunate to begin my career as a pharmacist at a private practice oncology clinic where she practiced for 10 years. In those 10 years, she developed treatment plans, began an oral chemotherapy program, counseled patients on new therapies, and worked directly with the oncologists to manage cancer patients’ plan of care. Oncology is an ever growing complex area of pharmacy that allows her to grow every day both academically and personally. As cancer treatments become more complex, the clinical pharmacist’s role has become more crucial in all phases of patient care as part of the cancer care team.

Joni joined the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at Firelands Regional Medical Center team in May of 2018. In this time, she has grown to love serving the Sandusky and surrounding area populations with an amazing oncology team. Firelands, while not a large health system, offers up to date excellent oncology care. They now offer a pharmacist driven oral chemotherapy program to further expand our care. Joni has been married to her husband, Andrew, for 12 years and have 2 daughters who she enjoys hiking and traveling with. Her family supports her passion for oncology and daily encourages her to continue to grow. She is currently preparing for her next step as she prepares to take the BCOP exam to further her knowledge in this rewarding career.

Halle Sattler, PharmD, BCPS

Halle grew up in the area and graduated from The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy in 2020. Following graduation, she joined the FRMC pharmacy team as a PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident. After completion of residency, Halle stayed on as a clinical pharmacist. Halle’s favorite aspect of Firelands is the various opportunities to practice pharmacy as both a decentralized pharmacist and a staff pharmacist.  Halle serves as an APPE & Residency preceptor for Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine. Within FRMC, she also serves on the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Medication Continuous Quality Improvement Committee.

Outside of work, Halle enjoys going to the gym, playing with her puppy Drake, watching reality TV, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers!

Erica Eakin, PharmD, BCPS

Erica attended The University of Findlay and initially joined the Firelands team as a PGY-1 Resident. Following residency, she spent a year at OhioHealth with primary practice areas in the stroke ICU stepdown unit and critical care units including SICU, CCU, and CVICU. She also provides ICU coverage to UH Samaritan Medical Center where she started as an inpatient intern in 2014. Returning to Firelands in the fall off 2021, Erica assists with precepting the internal medicine rotation for residents and APPE students. Her primary areas of interest include oncology, critical care, and medication safety.

Outside of pharmacy, Erica enjoys spending time with her German Shepherds Klara and Klaus. Alongside her husband, she also enjoys traveling to the mountains, cooking, and working on their farm.

Ryan Martin, PharmD

Ryan attended The Ohio State University and received his Doctor of Pharmacy in 2013. Prior to joining Firelands Regional Medical Center team in 2020, Ryan was a pharmacy manager in the community setting at Sam's Club Pharmacy. Ryan practices primarily in the inpatient pharmacy and decentralized clinical pharmacy on the general medical floor as well as filling in at the retail pharmacy and the cancer center. He serves as a residency preceptor for the Hospital rotation and the Longitudinal Staffing experience.

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, working on his family's farm and cheering on Ohio State and the Cleveland sports teams.
