Admissions
The Regular RN Program admits students once per year.
Opens: July 1
Deadline: March 1
Admission requirements
- Graduation from high school or satisfactory performance on the General Education Development Test.
- High school or college completion of one credit in mathematics and two credits in science (algebra, biology and chemistry preferred).
How to apply
- Apply online or download a printable application to mail in.
- Pay a $25 non-refundable application fee. You have three options to complete payment:
- Pay online
- Call the registrar/bursar at (419) 557-7115 to make a payment by phone.
- Cash, check or money order may be dropped off or mailed to the school.
- Submit an official high school transcript or GED results.
- Submit all official transcripts from all other colleges and universities attended.
- Submit character references
- Regular RN Program AND Transfer Students: Professional Reference Form provided by the school will need to be submitted from three individuals who know the applicant (teachers, clergy, employers or counselors.) A relative or friend may not give a reference.
All documents can be submitted one of three ways:
- Emailed to the Registrar/Bursar at Ashley.Dickman@firelands.com
- Mailed to Firelands Regional Medical Center School of Nursing, 1912 Hayes Ave. Sandusky, OH 44870
- Drop off documents to the school at address above.
Once your application is complete, the School of Nursing will contact the applicant to schedule:
- The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) unless the applicant has an earned baccalaureate degree from a nationally accredited institution
- Personal interview with the director and registrar/bursar
