I attended North Ohio Medical University and then completed both my residency and internship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania. I went on to complete a fellowship in adolescent medicine at the University of Cincinnati and then became board certified in sleep medicine once I began practicing here in Sandusky.
When I chose my specialties of internal medicine and pediatrics, I did so because I wanted more depth than a typical family medicine practice. I wanted to be able to practice a subspecialty. I truly value the individual relationships and face-to-face time I have with my patients.
Since beginning my practice, I’ve become fascinated with sleep. The patients I see at the Firelands Sleep Lab experience a truly remarkable difference in the way they feel. I love being able to help people feel better by taking care of their sleep issues. Beyond the Sleep Lab, I also use my internal medicine training at Firelands Urgent Care. Perhaps the most rewarding part of urgent care work is that I get to pass along my 25 years of experience to new physicians in training. I really enjoy being able to teach others how to practice good medicine. I feel like this aspect of what I do improves the quality of care in our area. I like being able to help people leave our office feeling better than when they walked in.
My wife and I selected the Sandusky area as our home because we are both from the Akron area. We wanted a smaller town and Sandusky has been a perfect fit. I like that this area provides a small town vibe, with bigger town services and amenities. It has been a great place to call home since 1991.
Firelands has been a wonderful place for me to work. I think Firelands provides a great balance of sub-specialties, especially for the size medical center we are. I enjoy working with other physicians and staff here. In my 25 years of practice, the resources available to our community have grown and flourished.
