I attended Ohio University for Medical School. Then, I completed both my internship and residency at Firelands Regional Medical Center. I liked it so much, I stayed to practice here!
I decided to go into family practice because I enjoy seeing patients in a wide spectrum of age groups and seeing all diseases. I get to build a relationship with each one of my patients and I get to see them at their best and at their worst. In some cases, I treat the entire family. In one day, I may see a newborn. The next day, I may see that baby’s grandparent. I really like to get to treat and interact with families across generations. That is special to me.
After completing my training here, I began my practice in this area because I am from here. I went to Monroeville High School and I always knew I wanted to come back to this area. I like that we live in a small community, but there is still access to the hustle and bustle of Cleveland and of larger metropolitan areas. Certainly, I like being close to family and being part of the community I grew up in.
One of the best parts about establishing a practice in this area is that I now get to interact with the medical professionals who taught me when I was a student. Instead of having a student-teacher relationship, we are now colleagues. I’ve found that throughout my ten years of practice here, everyone on the medical staff is extremely receptive to helping each other.
Because I trained here, I have established a rapport with the specialists that helps me in my practice every day. Whenever I have questions, the medical staff is always willing to help. Firelands Physician Group has been a wonderful organization to work for and has been so responsive to my needs as I grow my practice and improve the health of our community. I am happy to have spent a decade working in this area and look forward to helping many more families achieve their best health.
